I downloaded the latest version from the Nexus but when I try to install the necessary components into MO2 it tells me that "the contents of data does not look valid." I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do from here. Download, install, and activate FNIS via MO2. This will put the FNIS.esp in your load order. On the right-panel of MO2, click the "data" tab and go to the following folder: Data > Tools > GenerateFNIS_for_Users. In that folder find GenerateFNISforUsers.exe, right-click on it and select "add as executable" and click OK on the new window.

At any rate without logs from you we will not be able to diagnose anything. WebJust run FNIS as per usual. Then right click overwrite > Create Mod. Give it a name, maybe "ZZZ - FNIS", and enable it. Done. This is simply an extra step compared to NMM. If you install/remove new animation next time and require to re-generate FNIS, remove the old "ZZZ- FNIS" and generate a new one.

You must place it is in the tools folder of Skyrims data folder. Then generate it from that folder for the first time.
